Recap: Philadelphia vs. Detroit
Clearwater, FL (Sports Network) - Freddy Galvis tied the game with a two-run triple in the fifth, and scored the go-ahead run shortly after on a Jimmy Rollins sacrifice fly to lift the Phillies past the Tigers, 4-3, in spring training action on Monday.
John Mayberry added a run scored and an RBI for the Phillies, who got two scoreless innings of one-hit ball from reliever Joe Savery to earn the victory.
Detroit got a scare in the first inning after third baseman Miguel Cabrera took a hard grounder to the face off the bat of Hunter Pence. He left the game with a towel covering the bloodied right side of his face and received stitches for a cut.
Don Kelly finished with two hits and an RBI, while Brandon Boesch belted a two-run home run in the third. Starter Max Scherzer was shelled for four runs on six hits over five innings for the Tigers.
