Recap: Ball State vs. Southern Ill

Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - Randy Davis scored 19 points to lead the Ball State Cardinals to a 71-62 victory over the Southern Illinois Salukis in a BracketBusters tussle at Worthen Arena.

Tyrae Robinson added 14 points in the win for Ball State (13-12), while Jesse Berry notched 13 points off the bench and Jarrod Jones finished with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Mamadou Seck registered a game-high 26 points to lead the way for SIU (8-20), while Kendal Brown-Surles and Dantiel Daniels netted 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Cardinals shot an impressive 56.0 percent from the field during the opening frame, allowing the squad to take a 37-22 lead into the break.

The Salukis were then limited to just 40.6 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes to help Ball State capture a nine-point verdict.

SIU was guilty of a game-high 14 turnovers in the loss.
