Recap: Pepperdine vs. Portland
Malibu, CA (Sports Network) - Taylor Darby and Jordan Baker each had 17 points to pace Pepperdine to a 70-65 win over Portland in West Coast Conference action.
Joshua Lowery added 14 points and Corbin Moore ended with 10 points and eight rebounds for the Waves (9-18, 3-12 WCC), who snapped a four-game losing streak.
Kevin Bailey had 18 points to pace the Pilots (6-21, 3-11), who have lost four straight and 10 of their last 11 contests. Tanner Riley scored 16 and Dorian Cason donated 13 points in defeat.
The Pilots, who shot 39.7 percent, fell behind by seven in the first half, but gained a 27-26 edge at the break thanks to Moore's jumper in the final minute.
Pepperdine took control with an 18-3 spurt in the second half. A layup from Caleb Willis capped the rally for a 47-34 difference with 11:17 to go.
Portland made one final push, getting within 58-55 with 3:20 left on a Riley jumper, but Pepperdine scored the next seven to seal the outcome.Game Notes
