Recap: Santa Clara vs. B-Y-U

Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) - Noah Hartsock led all scorers with 21 points as the BYU Cougars made easy work of the Santa Clara Broncos 82-67 in a West Coast Conference tilt at Leavey Event Center.

Brandon Davies scored 20 points for BYU (23-6, 11-3 WCC), which extends its winning streak to five games. Charles Abouo tallied 14 points and eight rebounds and Brock Zylstra added 12 points for the Cougars.

For Santa Clara (8-19, 0-14), Niyi Harrison and Brandon Clark each scored 19 points. Raymond Cowels III scored 14 points and Evan Roquemore dished out six assists for the Broncos, who have now lost 15 straight games.

BYU shot 59.1 percent from the field in the first half and took a 34-31 lead into halftime. Santa Clara kept the game close by hitting 46.2 percent of its field goals in the frame.

The Cougars pulled away in the second half by continuing their hot shooting, draining 18-31 field goals after the break.

Santa Clara finished the game shooting just 41.1 percent from the field and hit on 5-of-17 from three-point range.
