Recap: Saint Louis vs. Fordham

St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - Cody Ellis came off the bench to score 20 points as the Saint Louis Billikens posted a 66-46 win over the Fordham Rams in Atlantic 10 Conference action at Chaifetz Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Billikens (22-5, 10-3 A-10) as they won their sixth straight and the ninth in the last 10 outings, were Kwamain Mitchell and Mike McCall with 16 and 11 points, respectively. Rob Loe was held scoreless on the day, but did contribute with 11 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.

The Rams (9-16, 2-10) were paced by Chris Gaston who dropped in 14 points and Bryan Smith with 10 as they suffered a fifth straight loss. Kervin Bristol accounted for a game-high 14 rebounds and three rejections.

Both teams had trouble finding the basket in the first half and with Fordham making just 6-of-27 attempts from the floor it was destined to trail by double digits at the break, 26-16. Saint Louis made good on a mere 10-of-30 from the field in the period.

In the second half the Rams picked up the pace and knocked down an impressive 52.2 percent from the floor, but still the visitors were outscored by 10 in the frame, en route to the 20-point setback.

The Billikens turned the ball over just six times on the day.
