Recap: Georgia Tech vs. Maryland
Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Behind a 16-point, 10-rebound performance from Kammeon Holsey, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets held on to beat the Maryland Terrapins 63-61 in ACC action at Philips Arena.
It was Holsey's first career double-double for Georgia Tech (10-18, 3-11 ACC). Daniel Miller added 10 points and Mfon Udofia dished out nine assists for the Yellow Jackets, who snapped a four-game losing streak.
For Maryland (16-12, 6-8), Terrell Stoglin led all scorers with 18 points. Sean Mosley added 16 points and Nick Faust chipped in 11 points for the Terrapins, who have lost two of three.
Maryland shot 48 percent from the field and drained six three-pointers in the first half to get out to a 37-31 lead heading into the break.
After the Terrapins extended their lead to 42-33 with 16:44 left in the game, the Yellow Jackets went on a 13-1 run to take a 46-43 advantage at the 11:34 mark. Maryland took a 56-55 led with 2:03 remaining on a Stoglin layup, but Georgia Tech answered immediately with a three-point play from Udofia to take the lead for good.
Georgia Tech was able to overcome a game-high 13 turnovers.Game Notes
