Chico Police say a medical condition may have led to a spectacular crash in front of an East Avenue sandwich shop Sunday afternoon.

The crash happened just before 3 p.m. According to the female passenger inside the truck, the driver appeared to be suffering some type of siesure at the wheel just before the crash. The truck was heading west behind Tinseltown Theaters when the passenger said she took a hold of the steering wheel and veered off the road so the truck could avoid cars ahead of them.

The truck crashed through two fences before it overturned on its side, landing at the doorstep of Fast Eddies Sandwich Shop.

Both the passenger and male driver were taken to the hospital. There's word on their conditions, however, the passenger was seen walking around after the crash.

There were people inside the sandwich shop at the time of the crash. No one inside the shop was injured.
