A man runs head-on into a Butte County Sheriff's vehicle following a short pursuit in Chico. Sheriff's Deputies went to pull over a car that failed to turn on their traffic signal while turning onto Ivy Street from 9th Street. That car then took off and ended up spinning out at the intersection of 12th Street and Broadway. Now facing the Sheriff's vehicle the driver floored it, running head on into the Sheriff's vehicle.
Sheriff's officials say the male driver jumped out of the car and took off on foot. He remains at large. The passenger, 25-year-old Stephania Gulbronson, jumped out of the car wielding a knife and ran up to attack a Sheriff's Deputy.No one was injured.
Gulbronson was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Sheriff's officials say the man when caught faces assault with a deadly weapon among other felony charges.
