Remains of Biggs Man Missing Since 2006 Found

The Butte County Sheriff's Office Thursday announced that it has identified the remains of a Biggs man missing since 2006.

According to a Sheriff's Office press release, On November 12, 2012 the Butte County Sheriff’s Office responded to an area behind the Feather Falls Casino/Mooretown Rancheria housing area on Monday after workers clearing brush for fire safety located bones.

Deputies arrived and confirmed what appeared to be human skeletal remains at the location. Detectives were called out to the scene and the area was processed. On Wednesday, the remains were identified through dental records as belonging to Ronald Earl Bonner Jr., who was 22 at the time he disappeared.

Bonner was reported to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office as missing on Oct. 11, 2006 and the investigation into his disappearance has always been categorized as suspicious. Bonner was last seen leaving his residence in Biggs on September 20, 2006.

The remains are being examined by forensic anthropologists. No cause of death is being released at this time.
