According to the California Highway Patrol, two men were riding their Harley Davidson motorcycles on State Route 3 just north of the Forest Mountain Summit when a man driving a Nissan Pickup the opposite direction became distracted and swerved into their lane.  One of the motorcyclists was killed.  He has been identified as Daniel Gerard Mathos, 53.  The other driver has been identified as Michael Philip Neely, 56.  He was flown to Mercy Medical Center in Redding.  The extend of his injuries is not known.  Authorities say Kurt Douglas Lorenzini of Yreka, California, became distracted and swerved into the oncoming lane.  Both riders were wearing their helmets.  Investigators say neither alcohol nor drugs are considered factors in the crash.  It is not clear if Douglas will be charged.
