A motorcyclist who slammed into a sedan Saturday at the corner of West Fifth and Walnut streets in Chico has died from his injuries.
A hospital spokesperson confirmed that Christopher Vincent Bonifield, 20, died at Enloe Medical Center Sunday morning.
Investigators say Bonifield was riding his motorcycle west on Fifth around 2 p.m. when he slammed into a white Volvo that was turning left from Fifth onto Walnut. Police say the impact obliterated the motorcycle and sheared a light pole in half.
The crash remains under investigation.
