A new stand-up and improv comedy club is opening in Chico this week. The Last Stand will open Friday night on 167 E. Third Street in downtown Chico.
Owner and comedian John Ross says he hopes his passion grows in the north state through shows and even comic classes.
Ross says, “We've already sold tickets to the standup class, so anyone who's ever wanted to try standup, they can come in, it's like $80 for a four week session. And you get to perform at the end of it.”
The Last Stand is still working to raise funding through a viral video posted on kickstarter.com.
The website is an all or nothing funding source, so if the last stand doesn't reach it's fundraising goal by Wednesday, Kickstarter keeps the money.
Shows start at 7:00 and 8:30 on Friday and Saturday nights.
The show will start with improv, then finish up with two professional comedians.
Tickets are $25 for a pair through Kickstarter.
