A Chico man has been arrested in connection with an arson fire on Nancy Lane.
Firefighters were called to the scene just after 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, after smoke was reported coming through vents in the home.
Six people inside made it out safely.
The flames were smoldering inside a garage that had been converted into a bedroom by one of the renters.
Investigators determined it was set on purpose, and arrested 60 year old James Kehrer at the scene.
Damages to the garage are estimated at 20 thousand dollars.###
