For the Butte Roadrunners Football Team, the time is now. Time to see just how good they can be! Butte finished the regular season 10-0 and now will play in the NorCal Championship Game against Reedley College on Saturday in Reedley. If they win that one, the State Championship awaits.
The Butte College Football Team is a mere 2 days away from their biggest game of the season.
Butte Quarterback Ryan Ratekin says, "We wanna be out there on the field right now. We're so eager to just get out there and do what we've been planning on doing the entire season and that's go out and win the NorCal Championship."
Butte Quarterback Jordan Rodgers says, "This week of practice has been especially intense and people know the consequences of what's gonna happen on Saturday, so I think we're all really excited and preparing that way."
Now one of the strength's for the Roadrunners this year has been at the Quarterback position, where Jordan Rodgers and Ryan Ratekin have both led Butte to multiple wins and will look to split time again this Saturday.
Ratekin says, "I can only give a lot of credit to Jordan for doing what he did when he came in and won all the games he played in and just did a great job of managing the game, and managing all the wins that he got. I just can't say enough about him. He's a great young player."
Rodgers says, "Last week when we needed a spark, he did it. I mean he was 5 for 5 for 180 yards and just really gave the spark and put the game in the bag, so I think it'll be good having both of us play again."
And if they play well and Butte does indeed knock off Reedley on Saturday, the Roadrunners who are ranked either number 2, or number 3 in the nation, depending on which poll ya look at, would not only advance to the State Championship Game, but would also still have a shot to be named National Champions.
Butte Coach Jeff Jordan says, "Just a great opportunity, to have the opportunity to play in the NorCal Championship Game. I mean just to have the thought of playing for a National Championship still is awesome."
