With the recent storms it might seem like we have too much water ... but there is still concern about whether California will have enough water for the future.
A two day water conference wrapped up Friday at the Sierra Nevada Big Room in Chico called "Water for Seven Generations: Will California Prepare For It?"
It featured a variety of speakers with expertise ranging from historical to scientific.
Part of the focus was how to protect the North State's water from running dry because of short-term vision, and the shipment of water south of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.
One of the speakers presented new science on the "dating" of local groundwater.
Barbara Vlamis with Aqualliance, which hosted the conference said, "it shows that we have very old groundwater, Paleo, and it’s very important to know that the recharge is not well understood. So, any manipulation of ground water would be very serious."
