According to California Highway Patrol, three people were headed westbound on South Park Drive in Magalia around 9:30 Saturday night. They approached a curve at 50MPH, according to investigators. The driver was unable to maintain control of the car, and hit a light pole and tree before flipping. Two victims, both teenagers, were pronounced dead at the scene. The teen driver was not ejected, according to family. The driver, who had just gotten her license, was taken to Enloe Hospital by Enloe Flight Care and treated for moderate injuries, according to family members. California Highway Patrol is investigating. Family members on scene say the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer.
