Hundreds of mourners packed the grandstands at the Shasta speedway in Anderson to say goodbye to a fallen sprint car driver. Now, these friends and family wore camouflage and number 19 apparel to honor the life Tyler Wolf, this was Tyler's Main Event.

"It's hard to know and to understand why tragedies happen like this to such an awesome wonderful young man and to such a wonderful family."

The tears of almost everyone at this memorial say more than words ever could, but some of these people still found the courage to talk about their fallen friend and sprint car racer, Tyler Wolf.

"Tyler was the most likeable, dependable, wonderful young man anybody could ever want to meet," says Vickie Swope.

"He was just too good and kind-hearted and truthful, couldn't find a better kid and you know I think it speaks volumes with all the people today that came to see him," said Sean Roll.

Wolf, a Redding native, was killed in a crash at Calistoga Speedway on October 27th. He was just 20-years-old.

"I met Tyler when we were go cart racing, he was a lot younger than me but you know he liked to run with the big boys he was probably 11, 12 years old and running with the big older kids and he had more confidence than all of them because he was Ty da Man," said Roll.

Despite his young age, Wolf was very well known on the sprint car racing circuit and he had spent much of his career at tracks in California grabbing the attention of fans like Howard Fourzon.

"He was a monster on the racetrack, just a total monster, he was in a class all by himself," said Fourzon.

When he was just 19, Wolf was the youngest to win a track championship at the Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, but these people say he was more than a good race car driver, he was avid hunter, a good friend and a great person, somebody who left this world far too soon.

A Tyler Wolf Memorial Fund has been set up at Tri Counties Bank. You can donate money at any location. The Wolf family plans to use the donations to start a foundation dedicated to helping kids acquire life and work skills.
