Trial Date Set for Suspect in Tyler Burton Attack

The man charged with punching a Shasta College Student ... Who is now in a coma ... pleaded not guilty again in court Thursday.
20-year-old Andres Rodriguez of Citrus Heights faces a felony battery charge in the attack,that happened in Chico Halloween weekend.
21-year-old Tyler Burton suffered severe head trauma when he fell to the cement.
He remains hospitalized at Enloe Medical Center.
Rodriguez waived his right to a preliminary hearing earlier this month.
The judge scheduled his jury trial January 28th.
District Attorney Mike Ramsey says Rodriguez was not charged with attempted murder as there is no indication that was his intention.
A Felony Battery conviction would carry a maximum sentence of 4 years in prison.###
