CHP officials say speed was a factor in a crash that sent a truck 60 feet down an embankment in Oroville Wednesday.
Officers say the driver of a pick up truck was travelling eastward on Oro Dam Boulevard ... passing other drivers over the double yellow line ... when he lost control in a curve at Canyon drive, and hit a tree.
The cab of the truck was crushed, trapping the driver, who couldn't be rescued until the truck was secured, to stop it from sliding down the slope.
It happened shortly after 3:30 p.m. and emergency crews were at the scene more than two hours.
The driver received major injuries, his name and his condition have not been released.###
