Redding Planners Consider Medical Pot Restrictions

The city of Redding's Planning Commission is meeting at this hour to talk about setting limits, and restricting where and how medical marijuana is grown.

Dozens gathered for the meeting Tuesday afternoon, as the commission considered limiting the size of marjuana gardens and where they can be located ... things prop 215 left out.  Also up for debate...things like six foot tall security fences, and just where medical marijuana dispensaries can operate.

Bateman goes so far as to say if any planning or city council members voted against 215, they should recuse themselves from voting on issues concerning compassionate marijuana.

The city council will take up an ordinance imposing other regulations...on November 17th. The planning commission could vote on its regulations in early December.###
