A Chico Police Officer driving his patrol car was hit by a red light runner early Wednesday morning.
It happened at the Cohasset Road and East Avenue intersection, right around 12:30 a.m.
Police say a teenage driver failed to stop at the light, and hit the officer's car as he was making the turn from Cohasset to East Avenue on a green light.
Fortunately no one was seriously injured, but the officer is reported to be a "bit sore" today.
His identity has not been released.
The accident is being investigated by the CHP.
