Oroville Police say a 19 month old was left in her crib for several hours, and they are questioning the timeline they've been given by the adults who were in charge of her. Friday around 2:00pm, police say someone from the home in the 1200 block of 4th Avenue called 911. Once EMS arrived, the toddler named Elizabeth was already dead. Medical examiners say it appears she'd been dead for 6 hours, and was facedown in her crib. Investigators say Elizabeth's mother had left her in the care of a family friend, Robert Wright, 31, for several hours, while she ran errands. It appears she was also in the home with another man, and no one checked on the toddler until the early afternoon. Police say they're troubled by the timeline of events. They also say there are other signs of extreme neglect in the home, but declined to go into detail. The case is being investigated as a suspicious death. Wright has been arrested on outstanding warrants involving drugs. Additional arrests could come depending on the results of the pathology report.
