Police need your help in identifying someone they are calling a person of interest in the murder of Marysa Nichols.

At a press conference Friday evening, police released a surveillance video from the front of the Red Bluff High campus.

The video is from 11am Tuesday, around the time Marysa was last seen.

It shows a man walking eastbound on Douglas street and turning southbound into the school parking lot. As he turns, he looks back behind him and a minute and a half later, police say Marysa Nichols walked through that same area.

“We have a number of things that we are investigating and as I mentioned earlier, details of that investigation are going to be sketchy at best at this point. This is the information I think is important for the public to know and it’s important for us to see if we can get any assistance in identifying that individual right there,” said Red Bluff Police Chief Paul Nanfito.

Police say this man may have seen something and he could potentially be a good witness, or he could be a possible suspect.

Police hope to use a witness description to create a composite sketch of the man this weekend.

He is described as a white male, possibly in his 30's.
He was 5’10” with a stocky build.
He had a red goatee, short to medium length.
He was wearing red shorts or cut-off sweatpants.
He had a very colorful tattoo on his lower left ankle.

If you have any information at all, you are asked the Red Bluff Police tip line at 737-3160 or 737-3225.
