A black Corvette ended up on the sidewalk after being broadsided at a busy Oroville intersection Monday.
Police say 50 year old Alvin Wimberly ran a red light at Fifth Avenue and Oro Dam Boulevard, and was hit by an oncoming van.
It happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. and closed Fifth Avenue for about an hour.
Wimberly went to Oroville Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The driver of the van wasn't hurt, but her passenger complained of pain.
Wimberly told police his foot "slipped off the brake and onto the gas."
He was not cited.
