Fire crews were called to an apartment fire in shortly after 5:00 p.m. Thursday night in Willows.
The blaze broke out in the second story of the complex on Sycamore and Humboldt.
A mother and son were inside at the time but were able to make it out safely.
Crews are still assessing the damage but they believe most of it was confined to the top floor.
