A man is dead after a shooting at a home in the city of Shasta Lake. It happened just after midnight on Sunday at a home in the 1700 block of Ashby Road. William Thietje, along with several friends, went to the home to see Thietje's ex-girlfriend. He was reportedly upset with the woman, and after ramming his vehicle into a parked car in front of the house, he nearly hit another man who was at the home. Deputies say the homeowner witnessed the incident and fired a long gun into Thietje's vehicle to keep him from hitting the other man. The bullet struck and killed one of the passengers. Thietje was arrested for involuntary manslaughter and felony assault. The name of the victim has not been released.
