The House of Sports Fundraiser has been in the works for about a year. Its goal is to save Paradise High School's sports program. Organizers need to raise $500,000 by selling 5,000 for $100 each. The raffle winner wins a three bedroom house on Conifer Drive. But sales are not going as well as organizers had hoped. Only 200 tickets have been sold so far.

Paradise High School Student Athlete Shelly Fuller told Action News, "It would be hard. I'd probably end up going to another school probably if I couldn't have sports, because it means a lot to me."

Now, organizers are expanding the fundraiser. Next week the fundraiser will go nationwide. Raffle ticket sales will be available on the Internet. Paradise High School Athletics Director Seth Roberts said, "Ideally, ticket sales will pick up. I know that they have. I know that community members, community people were slow at first, people I even know say, ' We are going to buy tickets this coming week.' So I think that it's going to pick up. I'm pretty optimistic about that."

The fundraiser will provide money for their athletic program the next two to three years. Organizers hope to sell all the raffle tickets by November 6th. If all of the tickets are sold, Paradise High School's athletic program will receive $300,000 while $200,000 will go into the cost of the house.

If you are interested in purchasing a ticket... you can contact Joan Swingle at Decorator's Delight to coordinate at-home ticket sales. You can reach her at (530) 228-9522.
