Small business owners and managers who work on 3rd street want everyone to know their businesses sell quality, locally-made products.  In fact, the co-owner of Art Ect. stresses what you'll find in the "quieter, kid-friendly" part of downtown is "quality businesses on third."  This group of local businesses has decided to come together, from Wall to Salem Streets, and host a Thursday night street festival, featuring live music, discounts, and tasty treats.  It's called "3rd Street Harvest Celebration."  They see it as an extension to the Thursday Night Markets in the summertime.  Says organizer Aimee Anderson, "Our customers always tell us how much they love the DCBA event, why not extend it right through the year with 3rd Street."
Organizers plan to host the celebration once a month, on Thursday night, through the holiday season.  They donated several items for a large gift basket which will be raffled off.
