Highway 70 through the Feather River Canyon is closed until further notice due to high water and numerous slides.
A roaring Feather River actually covered parts of the highway during the height of the storm in the early hours of Sunday. The road is closed at Pinkerton Canyon Road near Big Bend.
Meantime, Caltrans crews have been busy clearing slide areas and monitoring the highway for more slide activity. There's no word on how long the closure in the canyon will last.
