Glenn County Supervisors have voted three to one in favor of an alcohol ban on the Sacramento River over the Labor Day Weekend.
The ban would cover the river between Highway 32 and Big Chico Creek.
Butte County Supervisors adopted the ban last year but Glenn Supervisors did not, so it didn't take effect.
A Cal Poly student drowned during last year's float, authorities say Brett Olsen had been Drinking heavily.
A second reading of the new ordinance is required, before it becomes final in Glenn County.##
