Three days after a Gerber man was arrested for child molestation, several more victims have come forward. At least eight children, between two and ten years-old may have been molested by Ralph Martin. Authorities say the 64-year-old gained access to the children through his wife's in-home childcare service.
Days after Virginia Martin learned that her husband could have been molesting children for years, she is still shocked.
“It just blows you away. I would have thought that there would have been some sings or trauma. Something going on and even the parents are surprised because the parents did not even see anything, and it’s just pathetic,” said Virginia.
Her husband, Ralph Martin, was arrested early Tuesday morning for a sex act that allegedly took place the day before. He is charged with performing deplorable sex acts on a child under 10 years old.
“My husband deserves to spend the rest of his life in jail, for the acts or whatever he has done with these children,” said Martin.
Virginia has been operating Country Kids Childcare for 10 years but it’s unclear how long her husband has allegedly been molesting children. But Virginia says investigators have indicated there have been at least 8 victims in the last year and half.
“I am still kinda speechless, I don't know how to address this, every day seems to escalate into something more,” said Virginia.
And it will continue to escalate, the Tehama County District Attorney announced yesterday, they expect additional victims to come forward.
Meanwhile, Virginia wishes there was something she could have done.
“He was not left that long with these children at a time, but I guess it only takes a split second, or just a couple minutes from what I am being told.
