Supporters of a ballot initiative seeking to require labeling of genetically modified food say consumers deserve to know what they're eating. But legal scholars say the right to know also comes with the right to sue.  Experts say Proposition 37 on Tuesday's ballot is worded in such a way that it could open the door for lawsuits against food producers and grocery stores. Individuals could sue for an injunction to halt mislabeled goods without having to show they were somehow harmed or deceived.  The initiative's backers have dismissed the notion that passage would lead to endless litigation. But independent legal experts say the initiative is so loosely worded that it's practically designed to encourage lawsuits, including against mom-and-pop markets.
