Firefighter Injured at Big Beale AFB Structure Fire

A major structure fire at Beale Air Force Base is now under control.

The fire started at approximately 2:30 p.m. at a Civil Engineering Squadron Building.
 
Beale Air Force Base firefighters, along with Linda and Wheatland area firefighters worked together to extinguish the fire.

Base officials say the the building had one occupant at the time of the fire and was safely evacuated. One firefighter sustained minor injuries and has been transported to a local hospital.

The building has sustained heavy damage. The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time, but an investigation will work to determine the cause.

More information may be released as it becomes available.
