An early morning fire rips through an abandoned Chico motel.
The fire started at the old Regal Inn around 12:30 Thursday morning.
Fire officials say the blaze started in a corner unit and spread to several rooms on either side.
Firefighters called in help from Butte County Cal Fire and Oroville Fire to get a handle on the flames, which passed through the attick pretty quickly.
With the extra help and roughly 45 firefighters battling the blaze, crews were able to get ahead of it and keep it from doing further damage.
Fire officials are calling the fire suspicious since the building has not been in use for quite some time.
A damage estimate has not yet been given.
No one was injured.
