A rock on the tracks punctured the fuel tank of a Locomotive travelling through the Feather River Canyon in Plumas County Friday Morning.
35 hundred gallons of diesel fuel spilled, some of it reached the Feather River.
It happened just before two a.m., on the union pacific tracks between Belden and Vigilia.
The freight train belonged to Burlington Northern Santa Fe and was travelling from Vancouver to Barstow.
The train was moved at about five a.m. But several agencies remain at the scene working to clean-up the fuel spill. ###
