If you've been hearing a lot of loud sounds in Chico lately we promise your not going crazy. The annual Chico Air Show has been going on since yesterday and will continue into tomorrow.
Paradise resident Ally Cameron said, "I'm looking forward to seeing like three jets just going and doing flips and stuff." Entertainment in the sky is what drew in 10 to 14 thousand people to this weekend's 2012 Air Show. People from all over the country flew in to perform or show off their show planes with the community and the extra guests have given the local economy a boost.
Marketing coordinator Alice Patterson said, "a fantastic benefit to the local economy we've got performers who fly in from out of the area, we've got people eating in our local restaurants, staying in our hotels." The show includes 15 different air demonstrations ranging from a search and rescue and radio control demo, to a P-51 demo and of course thrilling aerobatics.
Paradise resident Tamara Ferguson mom of three said, "the kids love seeing the airplanes and the car drop we're super excited we've never got to see the motorcycle part of it so were excited about that."
For kids it's non-stop entertainment. "I really like seeing the motorcycles,"I really like seeing mostly everything," said Ally and her brother Brayden Cameron.
According to organizers every year has something new to offer. "Even if you've been to Chico Air Show in the past Chico Air Show 2012 is something new your going to want to head out its never the same," said marketing coordinator Patterson.
