Chico police have arrested two people in connection with a 2009 bank robbery that actually turned out to be an inside job.
Kyle Wood, 22 and Amber Warren, 23, both of Oroville, have been charged with burglary, embezzlement and conspiracy in connection with the October 17, 2009 robbery at the Wells Fargo inside the East Avenue Safeway in Chico.
Last month, an informant told detectives the robbery was actually an inside job and identified the suspects by name.
Detectives Jose Lara and Abigail Madden tracked the pair down and identified wood as the man seen in surveillance footage handing a note to the teller, who turned out to be his friend, Warren.
Investigators say the pair had decided to stage the robbery ahead of time.
The district attorney is also considering filing charges against a third suspect who learned of the scheme after the fact.
