This is my Father's story! In May 2010, his life was saved by this device. My Father lives here in Chico, CA. After being told locally that he was at the end of his life, and to go home to Hospice, he was sent by ambulance to Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento to explore this 'new technology'. After finding my Father was a good canditate, he was implanted with the LVAD as a 'bridge to life' measure until a new heart could be found. 6 months (Nov. 2010) later my Father received his new heart. It has been 14 months since the transplant, he has regained his life, and is doing amazingly! Sutter Memorial in Sacramento is doing phenomenal things for heart patients. The LVAD was a blessing for my family!
