Halloween is creeping up, and a group of kids in Glenn County is using the holiday as a chance to show off their creativity and raise a little loot. In tonight's Kids In Action, reporter Rick Carhart takes us inside the Orland 4-H "Barn Of Terror".
The McCalla family of Orland have a 50 acre almond farm, and one amazing barn. This Halloween, that barn is being turned into an amusement park for kids all over the North State.

4-H All Star Kassidi Buttermore says, "if you're older you're going to get scared, if you're younger it will give you a little fright but you're going to walk away just fine."
But the "Barn Of Terror" isn't just there to scare kids. It is being run by Glenn County 4-H members and being used as a fund raiser for the "Sew For Soldiers" quilting project.
Kassidi says, "we're doing pillowcases for the beds so they have something to feel like home."
The kids out here are getting the word out that 4-H is much more than just taking an animal to the county fair.
Orland 4-H member Tessa Flournoy says, "you get to do a whole bunch of stuff like Halloween and other clubs, not just animals that you get to join too."
Clover 4-H member Devon McCorkle is only 11, but he's excited about his job... to scare people.
Devon says, "I like to hear them scream, and it's funny when they run away."
Casey McCalla is helping run the event, and as a former 4-H member himself, he knows the benefits that 4-H gives to young kids.
Casey says, "I think it gives them a step above when they get to high school and college, a stronger head on their shoulders."

If the sights and sounds of the barn aren't enough to scare you, there is also a "House Of Terror" for the older kids.

And this brand new attraction isn't just for 4-H kids.
Casey says, "it's for the whole community, we're hoping everyone gets behind us. It's the first year, and we're hoping to start with a big gang."
